Weddings
Saturday I had the pleasure of photographing Miriam and Ruon Murphy's beautiful wedding in Southport, Merseyside. The happy couple had requested both formal and candid shots of the day. The art here is blending in to the group so they feel comfortable enough for us to capture candid and informal shots as well as the formal photographs. So John had the 30D and wandered through the crowd capturing some lovely moments while I used the 5D with a fill-in flash to take most of the formal shots. The bride had specifically asked for formal shots of all her guests. The flower arranger worked with us to create a corner where we had the studio lights set up and we had one of the groom's men escort the guests to the temporary studio area before they entered the chapel. This worked well as John set a tripod up there and I stayed with the bride from her home and captured the before wedding images.
The light conditions were variable - from the low light of the chapel to the sunshine outdoors. The two cameras served us well as ever, and a shaded area under a tree proved perfect for the outdoors shots. The fill-in flash brought out the tones in the couple's faces and eyes perfectly, and the shade made any conversion to black and white very nice.
