Saturday I had the pleasure of photographing Miriam and Ruon Murphy's beautiful wedding in Southport, Merseyside. The happy couple had requested both formal and candid shots of the day. The art here is blending in to the group so they feel comfortable enough for us to capture candid and informal shots as well as the formal photographs. So John had the 30D and wandered through the crowd capturing some lovely moments while I used the 5D with a fill-in flash to take most of the formal shots. The bride had specifically asked for formal shots of all her guests. The flower arranger worked with us to create a corner where we had the studio lights set up and we had one of the groom's men escort the guests to the temporary studio area before they entered the chape...

At a recent festival I was photographing I came across a new band called the Anomalies. They are a mix of hip, hop, big band - hard to describe. You can find them on Myspace and they also have their own site on http://www.the-anomalies.co.uk/. Their first single "The Employee of the month" can now be bought on iTunes. They are great live and worth going to see, exuding energy and real enjoyment in what they do.

Christian Savage owns a small workshop in Newcastle Emyln in West Wales. He makes violins. He trained at London college of furniture from 1972 - 1975 and went on to teach the trade to others in Cardiff for a year. He then began to make his own violins and cellos. He is also a collector of violins and has a story for each violin. He holds up one violin and declares that this one was brought into a second hand violin dealers in London in the 1800's by a pedlar who had this one and 50 more in a sack on his back. The peddlar had been travelling through Italy and had collected the violins which had been made by local carpenters in the villages. Another violin is attributed to Giuseppe Guadagnini. A Cello leaning against the wall brings a smile...

I have recently had the pleasure of attending the www.bushcraftuk.com moot. I have done a variety of work for them over the years and enjoy the outdoor change of scene from the studio. It was great to wander from workshop to workshop learning from amazing gurus such as roderick lane. He is author of the adam and eve diet and works on harley street as a natural healer. At the gathering he was teaching people how to use poultices.

I enjoyed watching children learning how to make fire without a match in sight. They had flint knapping, tracking, mushroom walks etc. I would recommend this bushcraft activity week to anyone who is inclined to watching Ray Mears and wishes they could go somewhere and have a go.

I have also provided ...
